Regenerate Cascadia is partnering with the Design School for Regenerating Earth for a third consecutive year to host the 2026 Cascadia Cohort, a six-month learning journey titled “Regenerating Earth Through Collapse.” The program begins March 17, 2026, and runs through September.

The learning journey is built around a central question: as ecological and political systems face unprecedented stress, what can communities do to become effective stewards of their local landscapes? The program blends global webinars, community calls, and integration sessions while connecting participants into a planetary network of bioregions. The Cascadia cohort adds a regional layer, bringing together people from across the bioregion who want to deepen their understanding of bioregionalism and move from learning into practical action.

What Participants Will Do

The program follows a bi-weekly cycle. During “on weeks,” participants join sessions through the Design School alongside members from bioregions around the world. They then gather in the Cascadia cohort to connect what they are learning to the landscapes where they live. Global webinars run on Tuesdays and community calls on Thursdays, both at 8:00 AM Pacific Time. A dedicated Cascadia cohort call takes place on Fridays.

Participants will explore the foundations of bioregionalism and bioregional mapping, form or strengthen local Seed Groups and Landscape Groups, connect with organizers at every scale, and identify pathways into Regenerate Cascadia’s Landscape Hub Cultivator program. For returning participants, the cohort offers a space to re-engage and support newer members.

A Sliding Scale Model

Money should never be an obstacle. Registration operates on a sliding scale from $0 to $300. The basic tier ($50) covers a one-year Design School membership. The standard tier ($150) also supports hiring a dedicated Cascadia Cohort Coordinator. The pay-it-forward tier ($300) supports Regenerate Cascadia’s broader work. Full scholarships are available for anyone in the Cascadia bioregion where cost is a barrier.

Why a Cascadia Cohort?

The cohort is where learning meets landscape. It builds the shared language, tools, and trust that make bioregional organizing possible. This year, the learning journey runs in parallel with Phase 2 of the Landscape Hub Cultivator, creating opportunities for cross-pollination between people who are just beginning to organize and those who are already leading landscape-level work across Cascadia.

Whether you are new to bioregionalism or returning with experience, this cohort is designed to meet you where you are.
