Becoming a Regenerative Human: 2026 Cohort with Dr. Lyla June Johnston

ReHuman School

Online (Zoom) Not specified Posted April 14, 2026

Description

Dr. Lyla June Johnston (Diné/Tsétsêhéstâhese), founder of ReHuman School, is leading a four-session online course on Indigenous regenerative ecosystem design. The course draws on hundreds of case studies of successful Indigenous food systems and land management strategies from around the world. Participants study these examples, explore their own unique role in ecological healing, and develop a strategic plan for catalyzing life and ecosystem health in their local environments.

Dr. Johnston holds a degree in environmental anthropology from Stanford University and a masters in Indigenous Teaching Methods from the University of New Mexico. Her doctoral research focused on how pre-colonial Indigenous nations shaped large regions of Turtle Island to produce abundant food systems for humans and non-humans. She has presented at TEDx, Bioneers, and Stanford.

The 2026 cohort meets via Zoom on Sundays: April 12, 19, 26, and May 3, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Pacific Time. Recordings are provided for missed sessions.

The course is free and offered on a pay-what-you-can model. A sliding scale donation of $40 to $80 per student is suggested for those who can afford it. No one is turned away for lack of funds. 100% of net proceeds benefit Indigenous-led initiatives for cultural, ecological, and linguistic revitalization, including bison rematriation through the IINÁH Institute and traditional Diné building projects.
