Regenerate Cascadia Community Steward
Overview:
The Community Steward will work closely with Regenerate Cascadia administrators to support the onboarding and engagement of new landscape regeneration team members (“stewards”), hubs, and volunteers within the Cascadia bioregion, as well as coordinating and facilitating the start of a Regenerate Cascadia Community of Practice. This will include organizing regular meetings, workshops, and resources to support ongoing learning and collaboration among the stewards and helping ensure at a bottom line that notes are being taken and that basic protocols for preparation and follow-up are followed. This includes technical assistance to onboard new stewards onto the website, our social media, and communication channels, adding people to Zoom and the appropriate Google Drive folder, facilitating smooth communication, and helping stewards connect with resources to contribute effectively to the movement. Technical assistance involves supporting stewards in navigating and learning the comprehensive digital resource platform and helping establish steward groups’ websites, social media accounts, and email platforms. The Community Steward will serve as a bridge between stewards and the administrative team, sharing feedback and insights to help improve the onboarding and ongoing learning and engagement process.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, passionate about bioregionalism, and skilled in managing virtual and in-person events, digital platforms, and volunteer networks. They will serve as the logistical and operational backbone for events ranging from community workshops, conferences and activation tours.

Key Responsibilities:
- Steward Onboarding and Support:
- Guide new Regenerate Cascadia stewards through onboarding, ensuring they are familiar with the organization’s mission, tools, and communication channels.
- Provide ongoing technical support, including website navigation, email setup, and access to internal resources.
- Assist stewards in establishing their groups’ websites, social media accounts, and email platforms.
- Work with administrators to create new resources and onboarding guides that don’t exist yet.
- Technical Assistance:
- Serve as a point of contact for technical support, helping troubleshoot issues related to website access, email, and communication tools. This includes Hylo, WordPress, Zoom, Telegram and Google Drive.
- Coordinate with the administrative team to ensure stewards have the tools and resources needed for their roles.
- Communication and Documentation:
- Ensure that meeting notes and other essential documentation are accurately recorded and distributed to relevant team members.
- Draft and support communications such as blog posts, community updates, and newsletters to keep stewards and supporters informed and engaged.
- Content Management:
- Assist in developing content for the Regenerate Cascadia website and social media platforms, highlighting key projects and updates, and stewarding achievements.
- Collaborate with the communications team to plan and schedule posts, newsletters, and updates for maximum community impact.
- Community Engagement:
- Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for stewards, providing guidance and encouragement as they establish their roles within the bioregional movement.
- Act as a bridge between stewards and the administrative team, sharing feedback and insights to help improve the onboarding and support process.
- Manage Regenerate Cascadia Community of Practice:
- Coordinate and facilitate the Regenerate Cascadia Community of Practice, providing a platform for stewards to share knowledge, experiences, and resources.
- Organize regular meetings, workshops, or forums to support ongoing learning and collaboration within the community.
Qualifications:
- Experience in community organizing, nonprofit support, or administrative assistance, with a strong interest in the Cascadia bioregion.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience in writing, content creation, and digital communication.
- Familiarity with website management, social media, email systems, and basic technical troubleshooting.
- Highly organized, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Location: Flexible within the Cascadia bioregion, with remote and in-person engagement options as needed.
