Regenerate the Duwamish River Valley

Regenerate Duwamish is committed to advancing long-term ecological health and justice in the Duwamish River watershed by collaborating with community organizations and partners to support regenerative and just outcomes for all living systems.

The Duwamish River Valley is a dynamic landscape encompassing wetlands, shorelines, and wildlife habitat alongside the port and heavy industry. Despite the impacts of pollution and development, wildlife and native vegetation continue to return and adapt. Communities in the valley live with the ongoing effects of colonization, environmental harm, disinvestment, and racist land use policies, yet they lead powerful efforts to care for the river, restore the land, and build collective health and wealth for future generations.

Through the Landscape Hub Cultivator program, the group focuses on supporting place-based regenerative efforts in Georgetown and South Park while building relationships with networks in Beacon Hill, White Center, West Seattle, and Burien. These neighborhoods are home to long-standing community organizations, artists, and organizers already advancing watershed restoration and land-based relationships. The aim is to nurture connections, share resources, and support the work already in motion.
