Participants convened on June 19 for a Cross-Pollination Call designed to strengthen connections across Regenerate Cascadia’s Landscape Groups and Learning Journey programs. The 90-minute virtual gathering created space for co-regenerators to meet, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations during an Immersion period for Learning Journey participants.
The call served as a strategic intersection point between two key components of Regenerate Cascadia’s work. Learning Journey participants had the opportunity to connect with experienced Landscape Stewards operating in their regions or nearby areas. Simultaneously, Stewards gained access to prospective volunteers and emerging co-regenerators who could contribute fresh energy and skills to on-the-ground projects. This reciprocal dynamic positioned the call as a talent and knowledge exchange platform.
One of the event’s most significant outcomes was its potential to catalyze landscape Immersions, intensive engagement periods where Learning Journey participants deepen their involvement with specific regional regeneration efforts. By facilitating direct relationships between committed practitioners and program participants, the call created conditions for these deeper collaborations to emerge organically.
The timing proved strategic, coinciding with the Learning Journey’s Immersion phase when participants were actively seeking ways to apply their learning in real-world contexts. This alignment increased the likelihood that meaningful connections would translate into sustained partnerships and concrete conservation work across the bioregion.
Regenerate Cascadia’s monthly cross-program community calls typically serve as networking and knowledge-sharing forums. The June iteration, by narrowing its focus to a specific moment in the Learning Journey calendar, demonstrated how targeted community gatherings can amplify connection-building while maintaining the broader relationship-cultivation work that characterizes the organization’s approach to regional regeneration.
The gathering exemplified Regenerate Cascadia’s commitment to fostering a vibrant community of practice across landscapes and learning pathways.
