Welcome Regenerate Fraser Lowland

This region encompasses fertile food- growing lands, wetlands, coastal ecosystems, and a complex urban–rural mosaic. It is one of the most productive agricultural areas in Canada and a crucial migratory corridor for salmon and other species.

Welcoming Regenerate Fraser Lowland to the BioRegen Program

Join us in welcoming the newest Landscape Group in the Cascadia BioRegen program. This thriving Landscape Group is grounded in place: defined by the life of the river, the health of its soils, and the interconnectedness of its watersheds, farms, wetlands, and communities. This understanding of how bioregionalism aligns with human decision making pairs with the sense making of ecological realities which makes the work of this Landscape Group so palatable.

Regenerate Fraser Lowland is currently stewarded by Marianne Wyne and Melanie Carlone, both bringing strengths and social science curiosities, both listening for the real needs of this ecosystem, grounded by the existing gifts of the community. These stewards are rooted in place and arrive with passion and gifts in systems design and transformation, restorative and nature-connected leadership. This Landscape Group has established early story-based inquiries into food system challenges and opportunities, as well as propping up early governance practices with early partnerships such as OMNI-Mapping, Value Flow, Mikorizal Software, Our Storytellers, Storytime/The Village, Salmon Nation, Kinship Earth and Planetary Party Protocol to name a few,

Much foundational work has already been accomplished towards long-term Food Resilience and Bioregional Stewarding of the ecosystem, establishing a path to this end in many key areas such as landscape reflection, early mapping, and relational convening. Their work focuses on rekindling right relationship with land, water, food, culture, and community — strengthening food resilience as a keystone of bioregional regeneration.

Over the next year, Regenerate Fraser Lowland will continue to learn from others throughout the Cascadia bioregion, building out long-term stewardship. In year one, The Group plans to launch their Food Resilience project and so much more!

As part of the Regenerate Cascadia nonprofit umbrella, Regenerate Fraser Lowland can now receive tax-deductible donations, apply for grants, and coordinate collaborative projects that weave together art, ecology, and community with the wider bioregional movement. You can support their work directly by making a contribution through Regenerate Cascadia, helping seed the regenerative future this Landscape Group is cultivating.
