Regenerate Cascadia joins Open Futures Coalition Fellowship

Celebrate!  Regenerate Cascadia has been accepted into the Open Futures Coalition Regional Resilience Fellowship program!

In this moment of great urgency and potential, we believe that much of our collective capability to solve the world’s most pressing challenges lies in local communities. The Open Futures Coalition Regional Resilience Fellowship program is focused on supporting, showcasing, documenting, and growing innovative, locally-driven projects, networks, & service providers operating within a particular geographic area and/or sector.

The first OFC cohort of fellows includes 20 organizations in 16 counties representing 35 regional demonstration efforts across Ecological Restoration, Regenerative Agriculture & Food Systems, Community Wellness, and Infrastructure & Built Environment. Among the outcomes of this year-long program will be the launch of a “Living Library,” enabling existing community-sourced solutions to scale, replicate, and learn forward together. Made possible through philanthropic support from the Cisco Foundation and the insights of our Regional Resilience Fellows, we’re expanding the Open Impact platform to source community-published resources, templates, and curricula from projects across our network, which we will refine together as a global community of practice.

Together, we will build a global dashboard that shows real-time progress across our efforts, populated by locally sourced data, stories, & adaptable solutions—growing communities’ agency over their own resilience and resourcing transparent local impact at a global scale. The Open Futures Coalition describes itself this way:

We are designers, developers, social systems architects, economists, storytellers, and movement builders innovating social, technological, and financial tools that support our ability to collectively innovate on, resource, and apply solutions to the world’s most pressing issues.”

This is the first cohort of the Fellowship program and will include regional demonstration efforts across the areas of Ecological Restoration, Regenerative Agriculture & Food Systems, Community Wellness, and Infrastructure & Built Environment. Some of the goals for this cohort are to foster collaboration, innovate solutions in these areas, and a robust knowledge exchange across respective regions and sectors.

As the work evolves and knowledge is gained, it is anticipated that the Fellows will:

  • Engage in creating custom templates and workflows to share more broadly and scale up solutions.
  • Participate in impact measurement, reporting, verification and the development of tools and best practices
  • Participate in peer to peer network improvement processes by engaging learning groups with others – leveraging shared templates, best practices, and approaches and support the cross-contextual advancement of local solutions.
  • Inform dashboard and content design to help customize the member experience for impact initiatives
  • Contribute to storytelling by documenting processes, activities, and progress through media (image, videos, blogs, etc.)

Congratulations Regenerate Cascadia-such a rich opportunity to deepen and  further our work!!!
