On Saturday, August 16th, Regenerate Cascadia was proud to table at the 2025 Burien Solar Punk Fest—a vibrant, community-centered event uplifting eco-friendly innovation, green jobs, and joyful collaboration. Held on the baseball field at New Start Academy in Burien, WA, the festival brought together a dynamic mix of food vendors, artists, climate advocates, and technology leaders in a celebration of what’s possible when we align our creativity with ecological wisdom.
Building Bioregional Resilience
At our table, we shared the story of the Cascadia bioregion and invited festivalgoers to explore how regenerative finance, landscape-scale stewardship, and local organizing can transform the systems we live within. We offered resources on our programs, handed out stickers, and sparked conversations with youth, elders, organizers, and everyday neighbors curious about building a better world—right where they are.
Centering Green Jobs & BIPOC Leadership
We were especially inspired by the Green Jobs Expo, which featured BIPOC professionals working in solar energy, sustainable construction, and rainwater harvesting. These industry leaders brought stories, insights, and opportunities—grounding the festival in lived experience and showing what an equitable climate future can look like. The day wrapped with a solar-powered dance party led by Marietta, reminding us that building a regenerative culture isn’t just about systems change—it’s about celebration, embodiment, and movement.
Why We Show Up
Solar Punk Fest embodies a vision that deeply aligns with Regenerate Cascadia’s mission: a just, localized, and resilient future powered by community, creativity, and care for the Earth. We’re honored to have been part of it and look forward to continuing the conversation in Burien and beyond. Let’s regenerate—together.
